There are two digital image libraries available to NCAD staff and students: the NCAD Image Library, and the ARTstor Digital Library. Both are accessible on and off campus by logging in with a username and password.
The NCAD Image Library is a collection of over 7,700 digital images of art and design from all periods and locations. The collection is particularly strong in art historical material and 20th century design, and it contains images of Irish art which are not easily available elsewhere. The ARTstor Digital Library: ARTstor is a subscription-based, non-profit digital library of more than one million images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and social sciences. To access ARTstor, users must register from a computer within the NCAD network. Once this is done, ARTstor can be accessed off-campus for 180 days, after which the registration needs to be renewed.
