Based at the School of Creative Arts at the University of the West of England the National Electronic & Video Archive of the Crafts currently hosts several hundred hours of video and audio interviews with British based ceramists, textile artists, wood-workers. glass artists, enamel artists and curators. TypeCulture® – a digital Type Foundry and Academic Resource has made available a number of short films illustrating Letterpress Printing and Linotype. The transition from such machinery to digital printing was swift and brutal and as with the efforts of our own National Print Museum the preservation of such equipment is an important reminder of the rapid evolution of type and graphic design.
